Privacy

This audio guide works without sign-up: we do not ask for your name, email or any other personal data, and it uses no advertising or tracking cookies.

Usage statistics

To know which audio guides are listened to and improve them, the way this site is used is recorded anonymously:

  • The pages opened and the audio tracks played, and for how long.
  • The chosen language and the type of device (for example, “Android phone”).
  • Whether this is the first time this device visits, to tell new visits from repeat ones.

The statistics do not store your IP address, nor any identifier that could recognise you or follow you on other websites. The data is only viewed as aggregate figures, and only by Arenas de San pedro and by Tekeum, which provides the service. Each visit is deleted after 14 months; only the daily totals remain.

What is stored on your device

For the above, your browser stores three small pieces of data:

  • A random visit number, deleted when you close the tab.
  • The date of your first and your last visit (the day only), for 13 months at most.
  • Pending submissions if you lose coverage; deleted once sent or after 48 hours.

Your preferences are also stored (such as audio speed, the route stops you mark as visited, the age band you choose in Explorers, the progress of a mission or the works you have listened to and where you left off, deleted after 30 days) and, if you use the button below, a mark that remembers you do not want your visit counted. Those never leave your device.

What the server records

Like any website, the hosting service (Google Cloud) automatically records the IP address, date and time, the page requested and the browser type of every request, so that the site works and stays secure. These technical logs are deleted after 30 days and are not used for the statistics.

The audio guides and the statistics are stored on Google Cloud servers in the European Union.

Third-party services on some pages

Most pages only connect to this site. These ones may also connect to other services, which receive your IP address and the usual technical data of your browser:

  • A route map is downloaded from ArcGIS (Esri, USA), together with the area of the map you are looking at.
  • A sign-language video linked from YouTube (in enhanced privacy mode) or Vimeo is only loaded when you open the sign-language tab.
  • The information pages of Arenas de San pedro may include videos or maps from YouTube, Vimeo or Google, which load when the page opens.

Your location, if you give your browser permission on a route, is used only on your device to show you on the map and tell you when you reach a stop: it is not sent to anyone. The statistics only receive which stop was opened, never your coordinates.

Who is responsible for this site

Arenas de San pedro is responsible for this site. For any privacy question, please contact Arenas de San pedro.

If you prefer your visit not to be counted

You can turn statistics off on this device. The audio guide works exactly the same.

Your visits are counted anonymously.
